Just Dial - Business Plans and Tips

Just Dial - Business Plans and Tips

Just Dial.com - a classifieds website and business contacts phone service offers two plans to enlist your business info into their database.

1. Business Listing for One Year
2. Business Listing and Promotion on Cost-Per-Enquiry

The Time-bound Plan 1 doesn't have any guarantee that there will be good leads generated.

The Cost-Per-Enquiry model guarantees qualified leads every month. This plan operates similar to google adwords. You need to bid for every enquiry. So if a business owner Mr.A agrees to bid Rs.X and if Rs.X is higher, then he will receive the highest priority. Likewise businesses can bid for each enquiry. On the whole this is pretty much similar to Google Adwords, except that instead of clicks, you bid for enquiries.

The cost involved:
The Plan 1 - Business Listing for one year.., costs around Rs.15,000
The Plan 2 - Cost Per Enquiry... costs around Rs.50 per enquiry. And they ask you to bid higher to receive more calls. And yes, this plan is NOT time-bound. As usuall with all business, one must negotiate well with JustDial to get the best deal.

As far as I can gather, it appears that JustDial has fixed Rs.10,000 as minimum amount for one deal. They will not settle for anything less than Rs.10,000. So the plan goes like.. you pay a minimum upfront amount of Rs.10,000 and start bidding. And the minimum cost-per-enquiry bid is Rs.16. But the JustDial people won't suggest that amount, because the less bid amount will put your business listing in the bottom. To receive calls, they suggest you to bid around Rs.35 per enquiry. And the best plan they suggest is Rs.45 per enquiry, generating around 350+ (appx) leads for Rs.20,000.

Negotiating Tips :
1. When the Just Dial people call, find out how many calls pertaining to your business are received / handled by them. For example, if you are a Mobile Phone seller, ask them how many enquiries are received pertaining to "best phone prices in city, nokia phone dealer in chennai, etc etc" Check if they receive atleast 50 enquiries per month.

2. Never agree for the price they quote in the beginning.

3.Get into the TOP-7 list. You need not be the 1st or 2nd place. But negotiate and find out the price which will put your business listing in the Top-7.

Pros : Receive qualified leads within your business's geography. Good if you have few competitors.

Cons : Minimum payment may not be feasible for many small business owners. You should act quick, coz similar bidders will receive the enquirer's details too (by SMS or phone calls from Just Dial). If you fail to call the enquirer soon, then you might loose the business deal. The charge for Cost per enquiry is too high. Local Geography only. No open system to determine the highest bid amounts.

Conclusion : A good marketing tool to promote your business, but plagued by ridiculous pricing policy. One has to pay Rs.10,000 not a rupee less than that to get in. Not for budget conscious marketers. But if you are sure that your business can get you more returns for the amount spent, then this is a wonderful tool.

Arctic Cool PL2 - 80mm Blue fan

It was a long time since I did any cosmetic changes to my home pc. Couple of days back, in eBay.in, I came across a 80mm cabinet fan from a company called Arctic Cool. It was a transparent body with blue lighting. And it costs Rs.250 (USD 6.00 appx) . I ordered one and received it yesterday.

Today was the action day and I installed the fan replacing the old black stock fan in the front port. After the connection, I switched on.. and boy ! oooooooohhhhh... that was lovely. I never knew blue fans are damn cool. Kudos to Arctic Cool. :-) My dull system now looks sexy !

That fan is from Arctic Cool which is in Switzerland. But still the manufacturing is in China. At frist I thought Arctic Cool was a taiwan company. No it is not. The susrprising thing is they got a patent for that fan. Donno if that patent is for technology or design? Anyhow the fan works cool and totally worth every penny of it.

Did I forgot to mention that it has a speed controller that lets the fan to spin from 1200 to 2500 RPM? ;-) I would definitely recommend this fan to anyone who wish to start off cabinet modding.
